Know Your Rights for Immigrant Families

Immigrant families and child care providers across North Carolina are navigating growing questions about how to keep children safe amid increased federal immigration enforcement. Join early learning partners and immigration experts on Thursday, May 28, from 6–8 PM ET for a virtual training on family preparedness and supporting children and families during immigration-related emergencies.

Hosted by the Hispanic Federation, MDC, MomsRising/ MamásConPoder, and the National Domestic Workers Alliance, the workshop will cover emergency preparedness planning, navigating interactions with immigration enforcement, supporting children through difficult conversations, and guidance for early educators if a parent is detained while a child is in care.

The training will be presented in Spanish with live English interpretation and feature a presentation from a North Carolina immigration attorney.
